Our mission is to significantly raise awareness of the disease of brain tumors so that a cure can be found more quickly.

As we increase awareness, we can help to reduce the suffering of brain tumor patients and their families. As awareness increases, treatment options will also increase. Patients and families will find support and comfort more easily.

We directly support research and development at universities and research centers as they search for more treatments and a cure for brain tumors.

Our support focus presently is going towards Dr. Avraham Dilmanian

at the Brookhaven National Laboratory, whose work with Microbeam

Radiation Therapy is offering promising results towards brain tumor treatment.

Genetic research: This past week has been an exciting time with the discovery of three new genes

not previously linked with glioblastoma brain tumors and the coding of all the genes in a collection

of 22 brain tumors. One set of results came from the Cancer Genome Atlas Research Network (TCGA)

and the other from researchers at the Johns Hopkins University in the USA. These findings might lead

to the development of more precisely targeted therapies for brain tumor patients.
